Description :
A great opportunity to take on responsibility for delivery of the Axminster New Youth Club (ANYC) to provide a fun, safe environment for young people of secondary school age.
Held on a Tuesday evening, we normally have around 25-40 young people joining us each week.
The role is for 4 Hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time only) at a rate of pay of £10 per hour
Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation, planning, delivery and wind down of the Tuesday evening Youth Club (6.30 – 8.30pm)
- Communicate effectively with current Youth Club volunteers to organise weekly rotas
- Develop a plan of suitable activities
- Renew and develop relationships with local Axminster businesses and the wider community
- Ensure the young people are always properly listened to and respected.
- Comply with all safe guarding duties
Person Specification:
- NVQ qualification in youth work at level three (worker in charge)
Experience and skills:
- Recent experience of working with young people in a youth work setting
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with vulnerable young people
- Good planning & organisational skills
Knowledge:
- Issues and legislation relevant to working with young people
- Health and Safety, risk assessment and safeguarding procedures relevant to work with young people
Other:
- Ability to work on a Tuesday evening 5.30 to 9.30pm each week (term time only); on a part time, self- employed basis. Position to start April 2018
