More details in the job vacancies section below.

It is concerning that Tavistock base for Alternative Education Provision at risk. Devon’s Alternative Education Provision (AP) for the education of children who are out of school, is run as a sponsored academy and includes the county Pupil Referral Units and education provision for children with medical and emotional needs. The sponsors, Schools Company, are currently being relieved of their contractual duties - the reasons for this have yet to be announced publicly. A replacement sponsor will be put in place but in the meantime the AP base in Tavistock is under threat of closure as a short term ‘cost saving measure’. http://www.voycdevon.org.uk/news/tavistock-base-alternative-education-provision-risk

Devon Community Foundation are recruiting young people to the role of a Grant Panel member.

This is a vital voluntary role within Devon Community Foundation (DCF), ensuring that grant applications are reviewed in a way that enables us to build stronger communities across Devon by ensuring our grant investments are wisely made and guided by local people.

Local grants panels are vital to our work as they help us to be more knowledgeable, collaborative and operate in a manner which is transparent and accountable to the communities we serve. This local knowledge enables us to make better, more informed grants decisions. The purpose of the panel is to make decisions on the award of grants and to help promote the fund in order to maximise the benefit to the community.

If you are interested in the role or know someone who might be then please do get in touch with Jo Hunt – Fund Administrator by calling 01884 235887 or emailing jo@devoncf.com
